The undeveloped land on the city’s waterfront may have a bright future, but the City Council could take steps to ensure it’s not so bright it becomes a distraction.
The council on June 23 voted unanimously to have the Ordinances and Legislation subcommittee review and tighten up rules regarding billboards citywide — with special attention paid to electronic billboards in the Route 79/Davol Street Corridor area.
The move comes a little more than a month after a two-sided LED billboard was erected in the Boardwalk Crossing plaza, near the corner of President Avenue and Davol Street.
